Shadowlands in E:M-1
The domain of the Mask of Winters is no behemoth, but it is just as inhospitable and deadly. Over the last decade, the fallout over Chernobyl has mysteriously gotten worse, to the point that, at times, the very air seems to boil and a deaf detonation breaks apart anyone foolish enough to still be in the area. These events are often called "blowouts" or "emissions" by those who survive them.
With radiation levels so high, mortals avoid the area, giving the Mask of Winters all the time in the world to do as he pleases without anyone looming over his shoulders. The undead, after all, fear not radiation, and the strange, damaged Dragon Lines of the land have given his risen dead strange new properties and powers.
This is by far the most obvious Shadowland in the world, but also the most lethal.
What better domain for a Deathlord than the City of Sin itself along with its surroundings?
The Eye and Seven Despairs rules over Death Valley, using his Abyssal agents to uphold his laws and collect resources, both material and immaterial, from those who bite more than they can chew. For indeed, in the great gambling city of Las Vegas, there are many who would give their soul for some credit in a casino; and the more undead servants he acquires, the better.
Under his rule, the cities in the Death Valley Shadowland have begun using souls as an actual currency by the underground rings, though to say the souls are literally being traded would be a misnomer. It would be more accurate to say that those who foolishly throw their souls away bind themselves to the Deathlord, to serve as either materials for Soulsteel or ghostly servants after their deaths.
Abyssals who serve the Eye and Seven Despairs would tend to be refit into collectors; of money, and of souls. In that part of the world, death and taxes truly are inevitable, one way or the next.
The city of New York— and much of the STATE as well— has been swayed under the Bodhisattva Anointed by Dark Water's rule, who uses social manipulation and a necromancy-based religion to hold the reins of power. Many suspect that he is in fact the Silver Prince, the current governor of the state of New York, but many who try to investigate the issue further either become fanatical supporters of his cause overnight, or disappear outright.
Despite being the dead center of the Shadowland, the city of New York is not entirely a Shadowland. Some buildings, some districts, have managed to remain shielded from the blight due to the efforts of some Sidereals who highly value Wall Street and want to keep it out of the Deathlord's hands.

Princess Magnificent with Lips of Coral and Robes of Black Feathers.
The First and Forsaken Lion is currently gathering an army in the region of Auschwitz, basing himself literally in what was once the central concentration camps of the area. Given that he literally does not give two fucks about the social implications of basing oneself in what was once Holocaust territory, he makes use of the land's history for death and bloodshed to fuel his undead armies.
Due to the out in the open state of his operations, many military forces in the world are considering what to do about it, but the Deathlord himself has often walked off his throne to personally and single-handedly defend his land, knocking bombs out of the air and wiping entire task forces with a single swing of his weapon. This makes him a very impractical target to attack, even with high-yield explosives like nuclear bombs.

The Mortal Wilds
Too small to be seen on the map, the Mortal Wilds are a series of hundreds of small Shadowlands in the southern half of Africa. If there is a center, a single palace from which a Deathlord oversees it all, it is well hidden. This Shadowland belongs to the Dowager of the Irreverent Vulgate in Unrent Veils, but the mad woman has not made any moves that reveal her plans just yet.
