Profile: Captain Benjamin Layfayette Sisko has been many things in his long career and life. From beginning interests in engineering, to a burgeoning career as a command officer and beyond, Benjamin has distinguished himself as one of the premier figures currently serving in Starfleet. Before the Unification, Benjamin was himself a dedicated military commander and political tactician over the course of the Dominion War in the 24th century, as well as before the war against threatening forces as varied as the Klingons, the Romulans, and the Cardassians. And in the sum of all this, such a man also has the ambivalent position of being the spiritual leader for millions of Bajorans, including ones under his command, who revere him as the Emissary of the Prophets, the gods the Bajorans worshiped. Sisko tends to be a very calm and collected individual, but has his moments of anger and independence when it comes to orders from Starfleet Command. However it's this same independence and occasional defiance for standard orders that has made him into the exemplary commander that he is, often using his head and putting his life on the line, but without the recklessness that might plague others.
